ECONOMIC GROUP AND SOCIETY

The 1st Economy and Society Encounter took place in Vigo, the 1st of May 2006, and counted on the participation of the Asociación Valenciana de Empresarios, Círculo de Economía, Círculo de Empresarios, Círculo de Empresarios Vascos, Club Financiero Vigo and Observatorio Económico de Andalucía. This first reunion, preceded by a reunion in Valencia in 2005 and with strong contacts among the participating organizations, insisted on the necessity of boosting the role of a civilian society in the democratic life.

It was also the beginning of the establishment of a group, the Economic Group and Society, made up of six business and economic entities mentioned before, whose objective is to contribute to the democratic well being of the country.

It aslo assumed the opening for collaboration that support common public positions when the circumstances require it, with the aim to favour the vertebration between private institutions, as an indispensable counterbalance before a political power who tends to occupy spaces that are not theirs.
